Hello, I am a dedicated player of NOCK. I think this game is incredibly well-made and very well-designed. However, there is one major drawback: the latency is quite severe when playing the game. Recently, it’s been manageable when playing with two players, but when playing with four, the game often becomes unplayable due to constant stuttering and lag. Recently, I had an interesting experience. I met up with some friends who live far away, and we decided to play VR together. We connected to the same router and played NOCK, and to my surprise, the gameplay was very smooth compared to usual. At that time, there were three of us playing in a 2v1 match, but when another friend who lives far away joined us, the game suddenly became unplayable for that friend due to severe lag. Eventually, that friend was disconnected, but the rest of us could continue playing smoothly. I live in South Korea, where the geographical area isn’t as vast as in other countries, so I don’t think the ping differences should be that extreme. I’m not sure where NOCK’s servers are located, but this was the experience I had. If the reason for this issue lies in NOCK supporting local connections, would using a VPN to let my friends connect to my router and then playing the game together reduce the latency? I’d like to know if NOCK officially supports local connections. Also, if I enable a VPN on my router and have everyone connect through it, would that allow us to play as if it were a P2P game? I’m very curious about this possibility. Could you possibly support P2P connections or local connections through a VPN? I believe that having a smoother gameplay experience, even if one side has a slight advantage, is far better than being unable to play at all due to lag. Since NOCK is a round-based game, I don’t think a ping difference of around 10ms would drastically affect the outcome of matches. Thank for reading
